History
Invest-Assured Financial Planning (Pty) Ltd was established in 1997.
Our roots go back to when Wilfred Dutton of Springs started his own company in 1934. His son, Alan Dutton continued in his footsteps and the company grew into a very successful long and short-term term brokerage.
The existing Directors of Invest-Assured Financial Planning (Pty) Ltd heralded from FPS, a Sage Group owned company. John Barnett joined Alan Dutton in 1991 and formed a Financial Planning Division. This division complimented the mainly Employee Benefit Structure with advice on Investments, Tax, Offshore, Plans, Medical Aids and Assurance etc.
John has over 45 years’ experience in the industry. Devon, his son, joined Invest-Assured over 10 years ago and has worked side by side with John in that time.
Devon is a fully qualified Financial Planner.
The recently “Advisory Agreement” signed with Warwick Wealth has expanded the expertise of the Company and enabled Invest-Assured to offer ‘cutting edge’ advice to all their clients irrespective of the age or wealth.

John Barnett
Managing Director
With a career spanning more than four decades in the financial industry, and operating his financial planning business for 24 years, John has built Invest-Assured on the solid principles that govern this industry.
These high values continue in his sporting career as an 8th Dan with the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation, as well as owning his own Dojo in Benoni.
Devon Barnett
Financial Planner
I started working part time for Invest-Assured in 2009. After a couple years of back-office work, I received my National Certificate in Wealth Management through Liberty Life. Since then, I have spent everyday learning as much as I can from my father (John). The financial world can be daunting, but I enjoy helping our clients navigate through it.
